Alexandra Dudley

Alexandra Dudley is a food writer and cook living in London. She is the author of the bestselling Substack newsletter Come For Supper, and host of the Come For Supper podcast. She has been dubbed a serial dinner party host but believes that the best food is usually simple and cooked at home. She prefers home cooking to restaurant food and believes that the cook should always get the first glass of champagne or slice of pudding.

Charlie Hibbert

Charlie Hibbert grew up in a family of people who love to cook and entertain. The kitchen quickly became his favourite place to be, and he started working at the Swan at Southrop when he was 13-years-old as a kitchen porter.

Charlie went on to train at Ballymaloe Cookery School in Ireland, before honing his skills under the guidance of renowned chef Jeremy Lee MBE at Quo Vadis in London. His mother, Caryn Hibbert, founded Thyme in 2007 and in 2018, Charlie returned to the Cotswolds to open the Ox Barn - to wide acclaim. He later took over the kitchen operations of the Swan also. His recipes have since been featured in publications including The Sunday Times, The Telegraph, and House & Garden.

Cooking Made Simple

From acclaimed food writer Alexandra Dudley comes a collection of effortless recipes in her signature relaxed style for people who want to cook good food at home without overcomplicating it. The book is designed for busy cooks who want fresh food that looks and tastes delicious.

The recipes are built around familiar techniques, and chapters such as Baked and Tossed are intended to work together, allowing readers to put meals together without complex planning or multiple pans. The emphasis throughout is on food that can be prepared with confidence and efficiency, even at the end of a working day.

Recipes include One-Tray Baked Chicken with Herby Rice and Pistachio Tiramisu. Cooking Made Simple appeals to those who enjoy the approach of writers such as Nigella Lawson, Melissa Hemsley and Alison Roman, and anyone looking for a reliable, unfussy cookbook that fits easily into everyday life.

ALEXANDRA will be signing copies of her book on the night.
