Join decorative artist Melissa White for a magical workshop, painting wooden boxes ideal for gifting or storage with chalk paints from Annie Sloan.
Inspired by Elizabethan wall paintings, Melissa will share processes of layering, mark-making, distressing, waxing and guiding participants to paint mythical scenes of Nymphs, Satyrs and white harts roaming the yuletide forests.
Melissa White is a painter and surface pattern designer, whose practice is rooted in traditional art and decoration, with a leaning towards the expressive style of The Bloomsbury Group. She specialises in translating historic motifs into hand painted murals, wallpapers, fabrics and objects, using bespoke techniques to recreate the rich texture and patina of time.
Her work includes original commissions and commercial collections, alongside designs for brands such as Zoffany, Lewis & Wood and Kit Kemp. Throughout the Summer of 2026, she was one of three featured artists in the Modern Muralists exhibition here at Thyme.
All materials, boxes, refreshments and a seasonal, locally sourced, sharing plate lunch are included.
