‘Evoking Nature and Divinity’
Curated by Pooja Singhal
SEPTEMBER 2025 - MARCH 2026
This exhibition presents a rare collection of Pichwai paintings: an intricate devotional art form that originated over four centuries ago in Nathdwara, Rajasthan.
Traditionally created as backdrops in temples of Lord Shrinathji, Pichwai artwork embodies devotion and storytelling, blending detailed iconography with rich textile traditions. Today, Pichwai paintings have become a source of inspiration for contemporary artists, while preserving centuries-old Indian craftsmanship.
Revivalist, curator, collector and cultural entrepreneur, Pooja Singhal, founder of atelier Pichwai Tradition and Beyond, has reimagined these works for contemporary audiences, exploring how ancient artistic practices continue to resonate with modern sensibilities.
Pooja’s work has been instrumental in the revival of Pichwai painting, supporting artists in Rajasthan while presenting this legacy to global audiences.
