Things to Know
WHY IS IT CALLED THE ORCHID HOUSE?
The roof of the Orchid House is a sedum roof, covered with succulents and grasses as well as beautiful native orchids, attracting a kaleidoscope of butterflies and honeybees.
WHAT DOES THE ORCHID HOUSE OFFER?
The Orchid House is a quiet, resident-only space for guests to retreat. A place to spend a lazy afternoon, with a book in hand. It is an extension of the spa and as such a serene place, we encourage guests to respect this and keep the noise levels down.
WHAT FACILITIES DOES THE ORCHID HOUSE HAVE?
There is a changing room, a shower room and a loo. There are towels to borrow and a few lockers for belongings. Do note, the changing facilities are not extensive.
WHAT IS SERVED IN THE ORCHID HOUSE?
The Orchid House offers a light lunch menu for residents to enjoy in between bountiful breakfasts and indulgent dinners. The menu consists of nibbles and bites as well as sorbets and ice creams. Drinks major on soft botanical juices and herbal teas, or a chilled glass of wine.

“On a recent visit to Thyme in early spring, I quickly discovered that the dialogue between the hotel and its surroundings is infused into every aspect of your stay - especially that aptly named Meadow Spa. It is Thyme’s very own “village within a village,” spread across various outbuildings and with a wildly pretty spring water pool crafted from black slate just around the corner.”
