CURRENT VACANCIES

MANAGER - Thyme is undergoing a new phase of development and as such we are looking for an experienced Manager to take over the running of The Swan at Southrop, our much loved and locally renowned pub in Southrop. This is an excellent opportunity for a proven Duty Manager or Restaurant Manager who is looking for the next step in their career.  Good experience of pub operations, excellent people-management skills with a diligent sense of ownership and a keen interest in local, seasonal food and drink is essential. The role is very hands on and you will be one of the faces of the business and candidates must enjoy being a host to guests. The right candidate will have an amazing attention to detail and a flexible attitude that will be an asset for this unique and growing business. GARDENER - We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced gardener to join the team on this beautiful Cotswold estate of over 155 acres.  This role will support the Head Gardener as part of the existing team in tending and developing all aspects of the estate; including formal lawns & gardens, herbaceous borders, Olive Garden, orchards, wildflower meadows with riverbank environment, grazing pastures, swimming pools and tennis courts. MAINTENANCE MANAGER - We are looking for an individual with proven hotel experience, to oversee the maintenance of our 5* hotel. Thyme is set on a 150 acre country estate with 15 bedrooms (soon to be 31), our own pub, a spa, cookery school, events space and gardens. We are an expanding business and are looking for someone hands on, practical, knowledgeable and happy to turn their hand to a number of tasks. We currently have a small team, so managing your time well and being a good team player is essential. We will require the Manager to organise the maintenance team to provide cover 7 days a week. SOUS, JUNIOR SOUS & CHEF DE PARTIE - Join our kitchen team at The Swan at Southrop.  We are looking for passionate individuals who are keen to learn in a fast-paced environment. You will have an interest in home-grown seasonal produce, be inspired by a menu that is in dialogue with the Cotswold countryside and its producers, and have the ability to work at a highly professional level inspiring similar standards from those you work with. ASSISTANT HEAD HOUSEKEEPER - We have a beautiful collection of spaces at Thyme, from exquisite hotel bedrooms and charming country cottages to guest drawing rooms, an elegant medieval tithe barn & state of the art kitchens. We are looking for a person with at least 2 years housekeeping experience at supervisory or management level to work closely with Head of Housekeeping. This individual must have knowledge of health & safety regulations, have an exceptional eye for detail and be efficient in what is both an administrative and hands-on role. HOUSEKEEPING - We currently have a requirement for two hard working housekeepers, with luxury hotel experience, who possess a meticulous eye for detail. BREAKFAST STAFF - Breakfast is not just the most important meal of the day, at Thyme it is the most indulgent.  From home-made granolas, compotes & sourdoughs to kitchen-garden inspired accompaniments for our own eggs and bacon.  We are looking for dynamic staff who enjoy interacting with guests and who will have the confidence to describe the thought-processes behind how we prepare food at Thyme. RECEPTIONIST - Our 'front of house' are a flexible and bright team who engage in all areas of the business, we are looking for someone with a 'can-do' confident attitude who is happy to help in the office, join the waiting staff, pick flowers, shake a cocktail, support the events team or act as a guide to Thyme whenever necessary, in addition to all the reception duties you might expect.  We need an articulate well-spoken individual who is happy to work on a flexible rota.
