Our Kitchen Garden & Farm are at the heart of Thyme
December-January - the kitchen garden is closed to visitors through the winter months
Adjacent to Southrop Manor, on the water meadows of the River Leach, we have the perfect environment for vegetable growing. Productive all year round with poly tunnels to extend the seasons, we grow a wide selection of heritage and heirloom varietals that give us inspiration for the seasonal menus at The Swan & Thyme and the recipes for our Cookery School. The farm is home to rarebreed Cotswold & Welsh Black Mountain Sheep, our honey bees' flightpath is the wild flower meadows, our poultry and pigs enjoy their home in the Kitchen Garden.
This is a productive working environment and if you would like to visit the gardens during your stay you will need to be accompanied by a member of staff. We offer guided tours at 11am each day. Please do let our reception team know if you would like to reserve a place. Visiting the gardens is entirely complimentary if you are a resident with us.
There are many lovely walks that you can enjoy when staying at Thyme, why not head upstream, along the River Leach Valley - a charming walk and if you are quiet and careful you will see plenty of interesting wildlife. Please ask the team for maps.
