Romy Gill

Romy's Kitchen opened six years ago in Thornbury and has firmly established itself as a foodie-destination of extraordinary worth. Romy, the first ever female Indian chef-owner in the UK, grew up in India’s West Bengal, introduced to recipes and styles of cooking from different regions of India. Since then, her passion for cooking has grown alongside the desire to introduce people to true Indian home cooking.  Honoured in 2016 with an MBE for this very work, Romy brings her distinctive view of Indian cookery to Thyme, which has seen her judging BBC's Great British Menu, featured on BBC R4 Food Programme, and a central figure in Bristol's vibrant food scene.
